California's New Michelin Guide Additions

California's food scene has received a notable update with the addition of several new restaurants to the Michelin Guide.  This globally recognized dining guide grants its prestigious ratings to exceptional restaurants. Originally a travel guide to encourage road trips, it evolved to serve as the benchmark for excellence in dining. A Michelin star is coveted by many chefs and restaurateurs, but awarded to only a handful of exceptional establishments each year.

To be featured in the guide, a restaurant must undergo rigorous evaluation by anonymous Michelin inspectors who assess the establishment based on five key criteria:

• quality of the ingredients
• mastery of flavor and cooking techniques
• the personality of the chef as expressed in the cuisine
• consistency both over time and across the entire menu
• value for money
