Invisible apple cake

Invisible apple cake, or gâteau invisible, is a French dessert that gets its name from the layers of thinly sliced apples that essentially "vanish" into the light batter, creating a subtle, marble-like appearance. It's a wonderful alternative to apple pie and a must-try for home bakers of any level! Try our step-by-step recipe now.

Ingredients (6 servings):

  • 6 large apples
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar (or vanilla syrup)
  • Pinch of salt

  • Grated Parmesan
  • 1 Egg
  • Salt and pepper
  • Italian Seasoning

  5. Cover everything in a layer of the bread mixture, and cook at 350°F for 20 minutes.
