Nigella Lawson Talks About How She Stays Fit At 57
Despite lots of indulgent food, the British food icon hasn't changed one bit.
British TV chef and cookbook writer Nigella Lawson is known for her incredible curves and (often quite naughty) food. But with all her indulgent treats, how does the 57-year-old food icon stay in such incredible shape?
The answer is yoga — lots of it!
In an interview with Good Housekeeping UK, she reveals, “I do yoga three times a week. I have to do something I enjoy, otherwise I wouldn’t do it. The older I get the more I realize I have got to do lots of stretching. So even if I’m not doing yoga, I make myself do lots of stretching.”
Lawson went under media scrutiny a few years ago for gaining weight (which she has since lost), but she's pretty relaxed about it now. “It’s certainly true my weight went up - that happens in life sometimes."
The food star is skeptical of all the diet and food trends hitting the media these days, particularly on Instagram. On smoothie bowls, she said, “The thing about a smoothie bowl is that it’s a nice picture... But I don’t know who eats smoothie bowls…Who?”
Lawson has just published her 11th cookbook, At My Table: A Celebration of Home Cooking, which celebrates homemade traditional foods.
