Dots

Dots gumdrops was first introduced in 1945 by the Mason Company and later acquired by Tootsie Roll Industries, which considers it the number one selling gumdrop brand in America.

The original flavors are lemon, lime, cherry, strawberry and orange, and they haven't changed since. According to candyfavorites.com, Tootsie Roll Industries manufactures more than 4 billion dots in their Chicago plant every year.

Several versions of dots are available, including tropical, yogurt and sour varieties, although the classic flavors remain the most popular.
