Homemade Falafel Burger

This homemade falafel burger recipe combines the crispy, flavorful goodness of homemade falafel patties with your favorite toppings, all served on a soft bun with a drizzle of creamy tahini sauce. A perfect plant-based alternative to traditional burgers, this hearty and nutritious meal is sure to impress your family or friends!

Ingredients (for 4 servings):

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 small onion, roughly chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup flour or breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
  • 4 burger buns
  • Tahini sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Lettuce, tomato, red onion, cucumber, radish, and dill (for topping)

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, parsley, cilantro, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, baking powder, flour, salt, and pepper. Pulse until a coarse mixture forms. Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the falafel patties for 3-4 min. on each side until crispy and golden brown.
  3. Toast the burger buns if desired. Place each falafel patty on a bun and top with your favorite toppings. Drizzle with tahini sauce.
  4. Enjoy your falafel burgers with your favorite sides like fries or a fresh salad.
