Caprese Candy Cane
This caprese candy cane is a festive and fresh arrangement of mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil, shaped like a candy cane for a cheerful holiday presentation. Perfect for parties, this no-cook dish comes together in minutes! For an extra decorative flair, garnish the platter with sprigs of rosemary or small ornaments to emphasize the holiday theme.
Ingredients (for 6-8 servings):
- 1 lb fresh mozzarella, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
- 3-4 medium tomatoes, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
- Fresh basil leaves (as needed)
- 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp balsamic glaze
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- On a large platter, alternate slices of mozzarella and tomato to form the curved shape of a candy cane. Overlap each slice slightly for a polished look.
- Tuck fresh basil leaves between the mozzarella and tomato slices for added color and flavor.
