Add 2 pounds of fresh fruits to the bowl of your blender, and pulse until you get a coulis. If necessary, use a fine-mesh strainer to remove any seeds. Add simple syrup to the coulis, and blend again. Transfer to a bowl and let sit in the ice compartment of the freezer for 45 minutes. Then pour the contents back into your blender, and mix gently to break the ice crystals that have formed. Place back in the freezer for 45 minutes, and repeat this process 2 more times. You'll be left with a delicious fruit sorbet, no fancy ice-cream maker necessary.
