Santarpio's Pizza - Boston, Massachusetts

One of the best no-frills pizzerias in Boston and one of the longest-running is without a doubt Sarpino's Pizzeria (though Regina fans may dissent). Originally a bakery that was founded in 1903, it blossomed into a pizzeria three decades later. There you'll find its legendary thick-crust New York-style pizzas with classic toppings, including its wonderfully flavorful house-made sausage. What's great about the place is that it doesn't strive to be anything more than what it is—a basic, old-school pizzera. Even the ornery, impatient waitstaff kind of adds to its appeal (though first-timers may find the service overly abrupt).
