Most Restaurant Chefs Despise Review Websites
In an interview with Business Insider, the late Anthony Bourdain once said, "There's really no worse or lower human being than an elite Yelper. You know, you open a restaurant, you struggle for a year to put together the money, you work your heart out, and then 10 minutes after opening, some miserable b**** is tweeting or yelping, 'Worst. Dinner. Ever.' ... It's like, dude. That ain't right." He's not entirely wrong here. Popular review websites, including Yelp, TripAdvisor and even Google Reviews give customers free range to leave a piece of their mind online. Obviously, positive reviews can help restaurants, but on the other hand, negative reviews can hurt them considerably. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but try to be fair, and don't leave a one-star review because they didn't have sweet potato fries.
