Muriel's Donuts — Lebanon, New Hampshire
It doesn't look like much from the outside, but Muriel's Donuts is hiding unforgettable sweet surprises inside its walls. The small, local shop is named for its owner Muriel Maville, who started churning out incredible round, old-fashioned donuts with her late husband, Francis, in 1967. The secret family recipe was a continued success, leading to the addition of more flavors and variations over the years. Now 80 years old, Muriel is still running the business on her own, making up to 60 dozen donuts per day. Fortunately, her hard work paid off, as the shop has officially been named a historic landmark by the city of Lebanon and is known for its legendary donuts throughout the state of New Hampshire.
