Burnt Stew

For whatever reason, sometimes stews get burnt, leaving you with chunks of meat that get stuck to the bottom of the pan. Don't let this discourage you. Simply take the dish off the heat, and gently remove the ingredients with a wooden spoon or tongs. Set aside, and pour the cooking liquid into a separate bowl. Leave the burnt bits in the pan, and taste all the individual components (meat, veggies, broth). If they taste okay to you, transfer everything to a new pan and finish cooking. If the broth tastes off, replace it with a fresh batch. You might not get the same depth of flavor, but at least it won't taste funky in the end.
