Burger King

The Burger King emerged in 2003 as a caricature of the original red-bearded cartoon king used in the company's ads from the 1960s to the 1980s. This new rendition of the king could be seen appearing in a series of questionable TV spots until he was finally dethroned in 2011 and widely denounced as "creepy". However in 2015, BK decided to bring back the infamous mascot, and the plastic-faced character now makes sporadic appearances throughout the brand's media campaigns.
