5. keep track of expiration dates

Use a white board in your kitchen to keep track of when foods expire. Don’t write everything on here, just fresh foods that will expire sooner. Eggs, milk, juice and vegetables and fruit bought in a container or sack should come with expiration dates. Having the dates displayed prominently in your kitchen also serves as a reminder to use up fresh food before it goes to waste.
