jellied in the shape of a can, according to a 2017 press release by Ocean Spray®. The American agricultural cooperative of cranberry and grapefruit growers is one of the most well-known producers of jellied cranberry sauce, and it has been a Thanksgiving staple in American households since 1941.
They also stated that Americans consume 80 million pounds of cranberry sauce during the week of Thanksgiving, and 76% of Americans serve store-bought cranberry sauce versus homemade for their big feast.
