Pasta/Potato Salad

No barbecue is complete without potato or pasta salad. But, the mayonnaise-laden dishes present a health risk when they're sitting out in the heat. To keep everyone safe, and the salad cool and refreshing, consider keeping them on ice or in a cooler. Alternatively, you could make a vinegar-based salad instead. Potato and pasta salads using vinegar and other (non-creamy) dressings carry a much lower spoilage risk, but no matter what you decide, keep those sides out of the sun as much as possible.
