Cooking everything together at once

As you know, not all foods are created equal, and despite the temptation to throw everything in the pressure cooker together, you might end up overcooking one of the components. This is especially true for meats and vegetables of varying textures and sizes. If you have a recipe with both, you should probably opt to cook them in a certain order. Start with the meat or larger ingredients first, then use a quick-release method to stop the pressure cooker and add the vegetables with the smaller ingredients. Bring the cooker back to pressure, and let everything finish cooking together. While this does add an extra step to the process, it's worth ensuring a better, more evenly cooked result in the end.
