Fuji

Fuji apples were developed in Japan, and are a cross between Red Delicious and Rawls Jennet varieties. Regularly ranked amongst the favorites, this apple has dense cells, leading to a crisper bite, but it's also nice and sweet. Fuji apples have a very long shelf life when stored correctly, but if you want to use them in your fall cooking, consider turning them into applesauce or apple butter. Using sweeter apples for this purpose reduces the amount of sugar (natural or refined) that you'll need to add.
