Gala

Gala apples are sweet, soft, and juicy. They're a tasty choice for eating plain or with peanut butter, but you also have a few choices when it comes to cooking. Gala apples work well in cake, keeping it moist and infusing it with flavor, but don't expect to find apple pieces when you slice the baked good—because they're so soft, they don't hold their shape when cooked. Another option is to dehydrate them into apple chips for easy on-the-go snacking, or for a tasty salad topping.
