Silver Palate Pumpkin Pie Modified

This is a great pumpkin pie, I have added a lot more spice
- 3 eggs
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1/3 sup brown sugar
- 2 cups canned pumpkin
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup whip cream
- Topping:
- 1 cup whip cream
- 2 Tablespoons white sugar
Carmen's Sweet Potato Casserole

Pre-heat oven to 350°
- Topping:
- 1c brown sugar
- 1c chopped pecans
- 1/4c melted butter
- Bottom:
- 3c mashed sweet potatoes
- 1c packed brown sugar
- 1/2t salt
- 1t vanilla
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1/2c melted butter

- 1/2 cup old fashioned

- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Spicy Pumpkin Soup

Heat the oven to 350 degrees
- 9 pounds sugar pumpkins or butternut squash
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 can of pears, cut into 2 inch chunks
- 10 garlic cloves chopped
- 3 and 1/2 tablespoon curry powder
- 4 quarts chicken broth
- 1 and 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1 cup heavy cream

- 2 teaspoons dried basil

In a large soup pot or sauce pan, cook bacon over medium heat until crispy
- 4 slices bacon, cut into small dice
- 1 pound hot Italian sausage, ground or links with the casings removed
- 1 large yellow onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups (32 oz) chicken broth or stock
- 3 cup Russet potatoes, cubed
- sea or Kosher salt and fresh black pepper
- 2 loose packed cups Kale, in bite size pieces
- 1 cup heavy cream or 14 oz evaporated milk
- Parmesan cheese, grated for serving
