Cake Pops from Dry Cake

Do you have leftover cake from the last celebration that might have become a bit dry? No problem! You can quickly make some cake pops from leftover cake. This way, you save yourself the trouble of baking a new cake just for cake pops.

 

Ingredients (serves about 30):

  • 1 cup leftover cake (pound cake, sponge cake, bundt cake, etc.)
  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3.5 oz dark chocolate
  • 3.5 oz white chocolate
  • optional: sugar sprinkles
  • Sticks

Instructions:

  1. Mix 5 tbsp butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar to make a frosting.
  2. Remove the browned parts of the cake with a knife. Crumble the rest of the cake into a bowl.
  3. Mix the crumbled cake with the frosting and shape the mixture into balls.
  4. Insert the sticks into the balls and press firmly.
  5. Melt the chocolate over a water bath, dip the cake pops individually, let them drip off, and allow them to set.
