Have a WHITE TONGUE? Here's what your body is trying to tell you
Trouble with a white or coated tongue is much more common than you might think, and this can often cause bad breath. Thankfully, it's not a very serious problem, and there are various ways that you can go about solving the issue. Here are a few different ways to remedy the problem and make your tongue fresh and clean again!
1. Drink plenty of water
A white tongue is often an indication of dehydration. Drink at least half a gallon (about 2 liters) of water each day.
2. Brush your tongue
Not everyone is aware of this, but when you brush your teeth you should also be brushing your tongue, as food residue collects there as well.
3. Lemon juice and turmeric
Turmeric contains antibacterial properties and can be very effective in combating bacterial-related problems. The properties of lemon juice, on the other hand, help to expel dead skin cells and reduce the risk of infections. Mix the lemon juice and turmeric powder together to make a paste, then apply it on your teeth.
4. Baking soda
Baking soda also contains antibacterial properties that can reduce the growth and production of bacteria. Mix baking soda and lemon juice and apply the paste on your tongue, then gently brush your tongue with a toothbrush. Repeat twice a week for about a month.
