8 Things You've DEFINITELY Done if You've Ever Procrastinated Anything

Call yourself a pro at the art of procrastination? Then you've likely come up with a miiiillion ways of pushing your responsibilities off until later.

But there are a handful that are pretty universal, and we guarantee that all good procrastinators keep these in their hip pocket, ready for whenever the need strikes!

Let's see how many of these you've done before...

1. You make a list of everything you need to do...instead of just doing it.

There's getting stuff done, and then there's intending to get stuff done... But it's the thought that counts, right?

2. For the first time of your life, you feel like cleaning your bedroom/bathroom/kitchen.

Remember last week (or the one before...) when you meant to vacuum the floors, or start working through that ever-growing pile of laundry? Well there's no better time than the present!

3. You text half of your contacts list to complain that you're SO BUSY UGHHH...

Some people use the buddy system to help motivate themselves, but a master procrastinator knows that its best purpose is distraction.

4. You load Google just to "do some research" and ended up reading random articles for hours.

Ohh, the internet... Full of such a wealth of knowledge, yet also so many places to hole away purposelessly for ages. Now seems like the time to find out which Friends character you're most like or who your ideal celebrity boyfriend is...

5. You log into YouTube just to "find a tutorial" and ended up in the weird part of YouTube for hours.

You can learn how to do pretty much anything with a quick tutorial on YouTube. You can also watch people put 100 layers of whatever on their face or weird animations that leave you feeling slightly disturbed. The choice is yours...

6. You decide this is definitely the best time for that Harry Potter marathon you've been meaning to have.

Movies and TV are the ultimate escape from reality, and it's just sooo easy to turn on the TV or load that Netflix browser... You'll only watch one, right? Riiiiight.

7. You promise yourself rewards for each little step you make towards actually doing what you need to do.

For every page of that book you read, you'll get to have a potato chip. It might work for a brief moment, but pretty soon you're left with an empty family size of Lays and a whole lot of stuff still left to do.

8. You convince yourself that NOW is the moment you're going to start... then again 5 minutes later... then again 10 minutes later...

Okay, it's time to get busy now, you've wasted enough time. You're going to get a drink of water and then it's really time. But you can't concentrate while you need to go to the bathroom though, so you'll do that and then get busy. Alright, you're sitting at your desk now, now you're reaaaaally going to do this...

This could go on for a while. But you get the picture.

So what about you: are you a procrastination expert?
