With This New App, Recreating Restaurant Meals Has Never Been Easier
There's a new app in town, and it has the potential to change the way you see food (literally).
The Future of #FoodPorn
Recently, you may tried a new dish that you absolutely loved. Then, you vowed that you would try to make it one of these days. So you snapped a pic, posted it on Instagram, and forgot about it. Those days are now over: there's an app that will teach you how to make all kinds of restaurant dishes just by analyzing your photos.
The concept is simple: the app takes your #FoodPorn and turns it into recipes (think of it as the Shazam for Sunday brunch). With this kind of technology, you'll learn how to make any kind of dish without having to research the name or ingredients. So easy!
How Does It Work?
The app Pics2Recipe uses advanced AI technology to scan a neural network featuring over 1 million recipes. It's currently being developed by MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). Hopefully, the app will soon be able to take you through the recipe step-by-step - just by looking at your image!
We already use our smartphones to look for recipe ideas and track what we consume. An app like this could change how we eat for good!
As it's still in beta mode, you can't download the full version just yet. In the meantime, feel free to play around with their online demo here!
