Koulouri (Greece)
These Sesame bread rings are popular across the Ottoman Empire and the Middle East (where they go by different names and are thought to have originated in Turkey). The Greek version, known as koulouri, are crunchy and chewy, almost like a cross between a skinny pretzel on the outside and a bagel on the inside. Served with both sweet and savory condiments, they're one of the most popular street foods in Greece and can be found on almost every corner.
