Philly Cheesesteak
This regional specialty may be attributed to its eponymous home state of Philadelphia, but it's now a beloved comfort food you can find in all 50 states. The combination of thinly sliced beefsteak and melted cheese on a long hoagie roll is perfection. The best cuts of meat to use are rib-eye or top round, and traditionally, the cheese was either American, Cheez Whiz (processed but delicious) or provolone. Born-and-raised Philadelphians will tell you that only onions are used in the preparation, but this recipe adds green bell peppers, and we don't hate it.
