These Mistakes will Ruin Your Chocolate Chip Cookies

Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies

For the perfect chocolate chip cookies, try this no-fail recipe.

Ingredients for 36 cookies

  • 1 cup (225 g) salted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated white sugar
  • 1 cup (170 g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (400 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 2 cups (320 g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 °F (190° C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugars. Add the eggs and vanilla, and beat until you get a fluffy texture.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients.
  5. Add the dry ingredients gradually, 1/3 at a time, mixing between each addition until just combined.
  6. Add the chocolate chips but set aside a handful for forming the final cookies.
  7. Mix well until the chocolate chips are evenly incorporated.
  8. Using about 2 to 3 tablespoons of dough per cookie, roll it into balls before placing on the prepared baking sheet (or sheets, if you need two).
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 4 to 5 min., then rotate the baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 4 to 5 min. more, and remove immediately when the edges begin to brown. 
  11. Let stand on the baking sheet for about 2 min. before transferring to a cooling rack.
  12. Serve and enjoy!
