No matter how you decide to enjoy this dish, the buttery layers in the croissants makes it extra indulgent!
Ingredients (for 3-4 people):
3 large croissants
2 cups whole milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp slivered almonds
2 tbsp chopped pistachios
2 tbsp raisins
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Whipped cream or ice cream (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Tear the croissants into bite-sized pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
In a saucepan, heat the milk and granulated sugar over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the milk is just about to boil. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the heavy cream, slivered almonds, chopped pistachios, raisins, ground cardamom, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
Pour the milk mixture evenly over the croissant pieces, ensuring they are well-soaked.
Bake for about 20-25 min. or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly.
Once baked, remove the bread pudding from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serve this dish warm, and top with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream for an extra delight!
