Kick off your summer celebration with the bright and fresh flavors of this garlic lemon marinade. Your family and friends can easily pair this simple and delicious recipe with their favorite dipping sauce!
Ingredients (for 12 wings):
12 chicken wings
4 cloves of garlic, minced
Zest of 1 lemon
Juice of 1 lemon
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, if desired)
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to combine.
Place the chicken wings in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
Pour the marinade over the chicken wings, ensuring they are evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap.
Refrigerate and let the chicken wings marinate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 375-400°F or 190-200°C). Make sure the grill grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
Once the grill is hot, remove the chicken wings from the marinade, shaking off any excess marinade.
Place the chicken wings on the grill, arranging them in a single layer.
Grill the wings for about 20-25 min., turning occasionally, until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks on all sides. The internal temperature of the wings should reach 165°F (75°C).
Once the chicken wings are cooked, remove them from the grill, transfer them to a serving platter, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley if you wish!
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces and enjoy!
