Pear Crisp
Pear crisp is a cozy and comforting dessert featuring tender, warm baked pears topped with a golden, crispy oat crumble. The natural sweetness of the pears pairs perfectly with the buttery, spiced topping, creating a delicious contrast of textures. This simple yet satisfying dessert is perfect for cool evenings and can be enjoyed on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients (for 6 servings):
For the Filling:
- 4 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
- ¼ cup coconut sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
For the Topping:
- ¾ cup rolled oats
- ½ cup dried cranberries
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced pears with coconut sugar, cinnamon, ginger, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until evenly coated. Spread the pear mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the oats, cranberries, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, and salt until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the oat crumble topping evenly over the pears.
- Bake for 30-35 min. or until the pears are tender and the topping is golden and crisp.
- Let the pear crisp cool slightly before serving.
