Ingredients (for 12 servings):

For the Dough:

  • 3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup warm milk (110°F)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ tsp salt

For the Filling:

  • ? cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 min. until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Add the melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 min. until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hr. or until doubled in size.
  4. Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a 12x18-inch rectangle on a floured surface.
  5. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle the mixture over the buttered dough.
  6. Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased 9x13-inch baking pan.
  7. Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 min.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cinnamon rolls for 20-25 min. or until golden brown.
  9. While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls before serving.
