Ingredients (for 12 servings):
For the Dough:
3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
½ cup warm milk (110°F)
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 large egg
½ tsp salt
For the Filling:
? cup brown sugar, packed
2 tbsp cinnamon
¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
For the Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 min. until foamy.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Add the melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 min. until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hr. or until doubled in size.
Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a 12x18-inch rectangle on a floured surface.
Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle the mixture over the buttered dough.
Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased 9x13-inch baking pan.
Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 min.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cinnamon rolls for 20-25 min. or until golden brown.
While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls before serving.
