Brown Butter Garlic Shrimp

Ingredients (serves 4):

  • 1 lb. large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the butter foams and turns golden brown, about 3-4 min. Be sure to watch closely to avoid burning.
  2. Add the garlic to the browned butter and sauté for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant. Add the shrimp in a single layer, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Sauté the shrimp for 2-3 min. on each side, or until they turn pink and are cooked through.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat, drizzle lemon juice over the shrimp, and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Toss gently to coat everything in the lemony brown butter sauce.
  5. Transfer to a serving platter and garnish with extra lemon wedges if desired. Serve immediately with bread, pasta, or rice.
