Made with ripe avocados, cocoa powder, and naturally sweetened with Medjool dates, this plant-based treat is packed with healthy fats and rich chocolate flavor. It’s perfect for a quick dessert or an impressive make-ahead option for dinner parties.

Ingredients (for 4 servings):

  • 2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 6-8 Medjool dates, pitted (adjust for sweetness)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk (or any plant-based milk)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: fresh berries, coconut flakes, or chopped nuts

Instructions:

  1. In a high-speed blender or food processor, combine the avocados, cocoa powder, dates, vanilla extract, almond milk, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  2. Taste the mousse and add more dates if you prefer it sweeter. Blend again to ensure the dates are fully incorporated.
  3. Transfer the mousse into serving dishes or small bowls. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 min. to allow the flavors to meld and the texture to set.
  4. Top with fresh berries, a sprinkle of coconut flakes, or a handful of chopped nuts for added texture and flavor.
