Chocolate fondue is a delectable and interactive dessert perfect for sharing. Dip your favorite fruits and treats into a luscious, melted chocolate mixture for a delightful experience.
Ingredients (serve 2):
4 oz high-quality dark or milk chocolate, chopped
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Assorted fresh fruits and treats for dipping: strawberries, banana slices, apple slices, orange segments, pineapple chunks, marshmallows, pound cake cubes, pretzels, etc.
Instructions:
Prepare the fruits and treats by washing, peeling, and cutting them into bite-sized pieces. Arrange them on a platter or serving dish.
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium-low heat until it begins to simmer. Do not let it boil.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for a minute to soften, then stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
Stir in the vanilla extract, if using.
Transfer the chocolate mixture to a fondue pot or a heat-safe bowl and keep it warm over a low flame or tea light candle.
Serve the warm chocolate fondue with the prepared fruits and treats. Use fondue forks or skewers to dip the pieces into the melted chocolate.
Tip: If the chocolate mixture begins to thicken, you can reheat it gently over low heat or add a bit more warm cream to reach the desired consistency. Enjoy this delightful dessert with your companion!
