Chelsea buns - England

Named after the Bun House in Chelsea, where they were created in the 18th century, these beautiful rolled sweets are buttery, sweet and fruity, stuffed with currants and glazed for that signature sticky taste and texture. They're quite similar to American cinnamon rolls, although the dough is flavored with lemon peel, cinnamon and spices before being rolled up and baked. Sometimes other dried fruits are added for more flavor, like in this tempting recipe.
