Prinsesstarta - Sweden

This picturesque specialty translates to "princess cake" in English, denoted by its fairy tale-like appearance. It's a traditional Swedish layer cake made up of alternating layers of sponge cake, raspberry jam and pastry cream, then topped with a thick layer of whipped cream before everything gets cloaked in green marzipan. A pink marzipan rose on top gives it true princess-y flair. Get the full recipe here.
