Cendol (Indonesian Coconut-Flavored Dessert)

This wild-looking sweet creation hails from Indonesia but can also be found throughout the countries of Southeast Asia. It's made from coconut milk, jelly rice noodles with pandan leaves juice (green food coloring), shaved ice and palm sugar. That funky, wormy green stuff is the jelly rice noodles known as jendol, which means "swollen" and lends its name to this popular street dessert.
