Koshari (Egypt)

Koshari is considered THE national Egyptian dish and has been around since the 19th century. It's basically a mixed dish that combines rice, macaroni and lentils in a spiced tomato sauce and garlic vinegar. It is then garnished with chickpeas and crispy fried onions. Other toppings, such as hot sauce and garlic juice are sometimes added before serving.
