Sausage Sizzle (Australia)

An Australian sausage sizzle is more than just a sausage sandwich. It's also the term used to the community event of selling and preparing cooked sausages (in other words a barbecue),  that commonly takes places across the country and New Zealand as well. Oftentimes, they are held as charity or fundraising events. In terms of the street food, it's exactly what it sounds like: a sizzling sausage served in a bun or piece of bread with condiments and grilled onions.
