New Jersey - Hunan Taste

Hunan Taste has been a New Jersey staple for Chinese food since opening in 1986. Unlike the majority of tacky/bare bones Chinese restaurants, this place provides a gorgeous setting with buddha statues, delicate Chinese lanterns and tasteful furnishings. The menu is prepared by a team of chefs that hail from various regions in China, which is reflected in the diverse selection that includes hard-to-find traditional dishes (crispy pork intestine, 1000 year old eggs, chilled jellyfish). Although it's pricier than most of the spots on this list, the bill is worth swallowing, thanks to the consistent quality, excellent service and an experience that differs from most.
