The US is far from legalizing marijuana across all 50 states, but in states like California (where you can grow up to six plants or be commercially licensed), some high-end chefs are incorporating the cannabis compound Cannabidiol (CBD) into their menus. Los Angeles's highly acclaimed Spring Restaurant recently closed but had offered an exclusive pre-fixe "power lunch" centered around CBD-infused dishes, including pea risotto (pictured). In NYC (where weed is not yet legal), The Breslin at the Ace Hotel serves CBD brownies and cocktails, while the James Hotel offers a full CBD menu for room service. The CBD compound is acceptable because it doesn't have mind-altering effects like THC but is said to have calming and stress-relieving properties. We'd try it!
