Buddy's Pizza - Detroit, Michigan

Detroit-style pizza devotees have Midwest chain Buddy's Pizza to thank for inventing the original square pie, made Sicilian-style with a thick crispy crust that sets it apart from the rest. Opened in 1946, this iconic pizzeria was originally named "Buddy's Rendezvous" and while the name has changed, it remains a favorite spot in Detroit and elsewhere, bringing people together over piping hot pies made with authentic Wisconsin brick cheese and baked in blue steel pans.
