Housed in The Liberty Hotel and run by acclaimed Boston Chef Lydia Shire, Scampo is a place you should scamper to immediately if you're craving modern Italian-style farewith world influences. Don't expect to see plainer dishes like spaghetti marinara or pepperoni pizza on the menu. Here, it's all about putting a twist on things: think white clam and bacon pizza, tandoori fired large sea scallops on whipped white eggplant, grilled pink swordfish with saffron and stracciatella served with risotto, mussels and grated botarga, etc. The space is cozy and polished without feeling stuffy, and service is more than up to par.
