Servers Don't Make The Food

This one seems obvious, and yet servers get blamed all the time when food quality is not up to the customer's standards. Sometimes, people even become verbally abusive, reaming their server out because the food is cold, bland, undercooked, overcooked, poorly seasoned etc. Try to remember this: the restaurant owner decides what to put on the menu; the server's job is to deliver the correct order to the kitchen in a timely manner; the cooks make the food; the manager is responsible for verifying food quality before it goes to your table. So if you have a problem that's unrelated to the correctness of your order, you should speak with the manager and don't punish servers by tipping less. It's really not their fault.
