Anyone who's worked in a restaurant will probably agree that one of the biggest annoyances is when customers show up 5 minutes before closing time. Why? Because that means the entire closing process for the night will be delayed, and staff members will have to stay past their scheduled shifts. That being said, it's not necessarily the customers' fault. It's somewhat of a valid assumption that you can order food before the closing time of a restaurant because until then, it's technically not closed. As a rule of thumb, it's probably best to arrive no later than 30 minutes before closing hours. That way you're not likely to be there for more than an hour, which is a reasonable 30 minutes past close. Just make sure you leave a decent tip!
