Pear Crumble with Parsnips and Hazelnuts

OK, we know what you're thinking: crumble is not pie. But we'd modify that statement to say "crumble is not strictly pie." Certain recipes, like films, are so good they defy genre. This crumble is that good. As the pears bake, they become softer and sweeter, while the parsnips are a bit more resistant. Hazelnuts and the crumble topping provide a pleasant crunch and texture. We'd recommend topping it all off with a dollop of clotted cream or whipped mascarpone. Find the recipe here.
