Add Some Tasty Toppings

You don't even have to stop at icing: try adding toppings! Sprinkles, edible glitter, candies, shredded coconut, toasted almond bits, chocolate, dried fruit — any of these will add a hint of flavor or a unique texture that can make your cookies that much more spectacular. And because gingerbread cookies aren't overly sweet, you'll find their spice-filled flavor is complimented just as nicely with sugary candies as it is with almonds or coconut.
