Finland

Finland provides free, hot meals to all students, plus a snack during extra-curricular activities. Their progressive model is one of the most thorough in the world, since meals are served to everyone free of charge, no matter their class. Lunch is served buffet-style, permitting students to take as much (or as little) as they want of a dish, though there are signs to nudge them down a healthy path. Typically, lots of vegetables, potatoes or pasta, fish or a vegetarian option, plus skim milk, and fruit are offered.
