Start with the Food

Whether you cook the meal yourself or order take-out from a restaurant, plate it and garnish it so it’s Instagram-worthy. Find the most elegant plate you own, and place your food on it delicately. Think about the colors, textures and flavors as you do this. If it’s a savory dish, garnish with a fresh herb if you can, or even celery leaves would work to add a little green on top. Another great garnish option includes a slice of citrus like lemon, lime or orange. It’s also handy to keep toasted sesame seeds in the kitchen to sprinkle on top of chicken, salmon and even ice cream.
