Undertipping
This one kind of goes without saying, but if you can't afford to tip your server properly, you shouldn't be going out to eat. Although the minimum wage for tipped employees may evolve in the future, for now, many employees are still earning the absolute minimum wage ($2.13) per hour and therefore rely heavily on tips for their overall income. While it's true that tipping is not mandatory (unless gratuity is included in the check, oftentimes for bigger parties or orders), you should always leave between a 15-20 percent tip. That's 15 to 20% of your bill, so get the calculator out if you need it. And if they really went above and beyond to accommodate you, don't hesitate to go higher than that, if you have the means.
