Red Meat

Red meat is similar to poultry in that color isn't always the best indicator of spoilage. Brown spots don't necessarily mean it's no longer good, but if they're accompanied by a bad odor and a sticky, tacky surface, pitch the meat. Also, if the meat has become very dark or faded, it's probably no longer good.
